It covers a total of 629 square miles and has a population of 467,000.
Basse-Tere is the capital.
Best time to dive Guadeloupe:
January to March is the best, those are the driest months, December and April the rain can be abundant.
Hurricane season runs from June to November, the highest risk of being affected is from August to October.

La grotte aux Barracudas;
This is the best known dive site of Guadeloupe, about 72 ft max. depth.
This amazing Blue cave is home to a huge school of Barracudas, also starfish, Spiny Lobster, Crabs , Frog fish, Eels & Rays can be observed
Jardin de Corail;
This amzang 75 ft dive is in the Cousteau reserve. Gorgonian fans, Hard & soft Corals and Sponges cover this reef. Turtles, Jack fish, and stingrays populate this area, on the sand you will find a 36 foot statue of Jacques Cousteau.
The Aquarium;
With a Max. depth of 60 ft this site in the Cousteau reserve is an ideal site for all levels of divers.
Home to Frog fish, many Sea Turtles, Damsel fish, Trigger fish, Stone fish and many pelagic.
Le Franjack;
This 165 ft long ship was sunk in 1996 to form an artificial reef, it lies at a depth of 78 ft.
Gorgonian fans, Hard- and Soft corals have grown on the ship. Spiny Lobster, Grunts, Crabs, Damsel Fish, and Trigger Fish can be seen here.
